From the outset, the committee knew that the
challenge would be to maintain a healthy bank balance for the Community Shop for the first five years. At this point the £10,000 loan from
Co-operative & Community Finance should have been repaid and therefore the running cost of the
shop reduced.
This has been achieved and at the
same time investment has been made in the shop.
On March
23rd the volunteers enjoyed a social evening to celebrate this achievement thanks to the recent award for which people kindly voted.
Entertainment was provided by Winkleigh Morris, who also offered the
opportunity for brave souls to take part - with suitable guidance!
All our Shop and Committee volunteers fully deserve
recognition for their contribution to the community... so here are some memories of that fun-filled celebration evening for us to enjoy!
